As per their work experience, they may apply for receiving a New Brunswick provincial nomination certificate to attain a Canadian permanent residence.

Major Immigration Categories for NBPNP

The immigration system of NBPNP accepts the candidates’ applications under the following major categories:

  • Skilled Workers with Employer Support
  • Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream
  • Entrepreneurial Stream
  • Succession Connect pilot program

Express Entry Labour Market Stream

This category works on the Express Entry System under the Expression of Interest model. The express Entry system is an online immigration application system where candidates submit their profile to the Canadian government for further evaluation and selection. It is usually dependent on selecting the candidates to fulfil the labour market and demographic needs in the province. In order to enter the Expressions of Interest (EOIs) pool, the candidates are required to meet the following criteria:

  1. Created a valid Express Entry profile and must have a job seeker validation code;
  2. Living and working in New Brunswick and should be able to provide an official letter of employment from an eligible employer;
  3. Must have a valid work permit in Canada
  4. Should be able to present language proficiency result with minimum required score
  5. Must hold a valid Education Credential Assessment (ECA) in order to fulfil the educational credential requirements.

Additionally, there is separate criteria on which EOI profiles are assessed and ranked:

  1. Highest score;
  2. Official letter of training or work experience in the province;
  3. Demonstrate the availability of sufficient funds to become economically established in the province;
  4. Should be able to fulfil the labour market needs of the province.

Skilled Workers with Employer Support

This category targets the immigrants who have a received a full-time or permanent job offer from an established employer in New Brunswick. There are five major factors according to which the applications of the candidates are assessed. It includes Age, Language proficiency, Education, Work experience and Adaptability.

The candidates need to submit their application to NBPNP. The NBPNP will provide a written notification of their decision and forward the applicant’s application of Canadian permanent residence to IRCC. Once the Canadian PR Visa is issued, the applicant can settle in New Brunswick by informing the NBPNP within 30 days of landing in the country.

Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream

Under this stream, the students who have graduated from a recognised institution or college in New Brunswick and are planning to start a business in the province can apply for permanent residence. It works on the Expression of Interest model. The applications are assessed according to several factors such as Age, Education, Language, Work Experience, Monetary benefit of the business and Adaptability.

Entrepreneurial Stream

This stream is specific for accepting applications from immigrants who plan to own or manage a new business in New Brunswick. It functions on the Expression of Interest model and the selection of the candidate is based on Age, Language, Education, Personal Net Worth, Ownership or management experience, Business concept and Adaptability. Apart from this, the candidate needs to demonstrate the monetary benefit that his/ her business is going to provide to the province’s economy.

Succession Connect pilot program

This stream is an immigration pilot program of NBPNP that works with Fredericton Chamber of Commerce. The program aims to provide unique opportunities to new comers who are business minded and are seeking business investments. It also targets the local business owners who would like to pass on their local business to the budding minds to maintain the legacy of their business.
