Latest Canada Express Entry Immigration Draws

Express Entry is an online immigration system used by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to make the immigration selection process easier and faster. It selects the candidates for granting ITA under its three federal immigration programs:

Under the Express Entry system, the candidates need to submit their profile to be included in the Express Entry pool. The government evaluates each profile and assigns them CRS score / Express Entry points to further rank them for sending ITA. The profile of each candidate is assessed upon different factors and assigned with a CRS score out of 1200 points.

Every fortnight, the Canadian government conducts an Express Entry draw to grant ITA to the candidates. Each immigration draw represents a CRS cut-off based on the CRS score of the lowest ranking candidate. Once a candidate receives an ITA after the Canada Express Entry Draw, they are given 60 days to submit their documents officially via electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR).

Express Entry draw has two cases:

• General: This case selects the candidates who are eligible for any federal economic immigration program. The government may select them solely on the basis of their CRS score.

• Program Specific: Under this case, the Canadian government selects the candidate for just one of the federal economic immigration programs.

Canada is currently experiencing a shortage of labor and the aging population. It has opened doors to foreign nationals to enter into the pool of the Express Entry system and receive ITA for Canadian PR. As per the latest Express Entry immigration draw held in March 2020, the CRS score was 471 points which means that the candidates who have scored above 471 points are eligible to apply for Canadian PR.
